The Russian Revolution
The Russian Revolution was one of the most important periods in 20th century world history. This two-DVD set tells the whole story, starting with the demonstrations of Petrograd workers in 1917 and ending with the crushing of the Kronstadt Rebellion in 1921. It uses colourised archive footage, dramatisations and interviews with historians. The film considers the perspective of the sailors of Kronstadt – an influential force at several stages of the revolution.

Churchill - the finest hours

This film is a comprehensive biography of Winston Churchill. Produced in 1961 with his full co-operation and blessing, and narrated by Orson Welles, it is an inspired and affectionate tribute to one of the greatest Britons. It concentrates predominantly on the era with which his memory is intertwined – the Second World War. The film paints an effective picture of a war leader rallying the British nation in her darkest days, using his mastery of the English language to give hope to the vanquished and to strengthen the resolve of those who shared his fighting spirit.
