This is the funny and inspiring video diary of an overweight young man who sets himself the challenge of running the London Marathon. We live with him through the highs and lows of his preparation, unsure whether he will achieve the difficult goal he has set himself. As he crosses the finish line and the tears flow the viewer cannot help but reflect upon the value of setting challenging goals and the process for seeing them through.

Unhappy with his slobbish lifestyle, James Peak sets himself the goal of running the London Marathon. Weighing in at 16½ stone and with a taste for takeaways, this is the biggest challenge of his life. His friends are unconvinced: “To be entirely honest, I don't think so. I think you're too fat."
Through the medium of James' video diary we follow him through the trials and tribulations of the next 5½ months. We see him training through the winter, improving his diet, buying the kit and taking part in warm-up events.
James encounters his fair share of problems along the way: ill-advised blow-outs, demoralisation and, as he approaches the big day, an injury to his knee. But his resolution holds and when he crosses the finish line 4¾ hours later, he experiences a sense of elation and self-belief that will stay with him for many years.
This film is funny and inspiring in equal measures. Even if it doesn't motivate the viewer to run a marathon (and be warned, it may), you can't help but reflect upon your own life goals.
