| This DVD examines the inner working of the United Nations – specifically the Security Council – within the context of a Danish initiative to pass a resolution intended to protect Darfur from genocide. The diplomatic game is complicated and long-winded. Significant hurdles are placed in the resolution’s path, including China and Russia manoeuvring to protect their own commercial interests in Sudan. Things are not made easier by the fact that Sudan's government won't accept peacekeeping forces to enter the country, for fear of Western colonialisation. The film was made with a surprising level of behind-the-scenes access to the head office of the Security Council, the United Nations' holy of holies.
